Physical Medicine

Physical Medicine improves muscle flexibility and strength, joint function, and proprioception, resulting in increased balance, coordination, kinesthetic awareness, and improved posture. Physical medicine reduces pain and dysfunction by correcting imbalances. This is all achieved through specific exercises, therapy, and modalities individualized for each patient’s condition. Our therapy program is used in combination with additional treatment modalities to maximize efficacy of treatment.

Physical Medicine requires active participation of the patient in the clinic 2-3 times per week (30-45 minutes) and home exercises daily. The duration of therapy varies by condition but generally consists of 4-6 weeks. Patients who participate as advised by the therapist receive the most benefit from their rehabilitation program.

Clinical studies have shown maximum recovery within a reduced amount of time in patients who receive therapy in conjunction with chiropractic adjustments. Treatment is coordinated through team meetings held by the floor therapist and the chiropractor. This partnership lends success to achieve optimal results for our patients.
